Heart Transplants! Empty Heart Transplants!

Post  DüüüG February 25th 2012, 1:02 am

Let's talk about swaps! this is more or less for the mk1/mk2 guys who are either bored of their current set up, or just want to undertake a challenge.
Looking to get some suggestions for the Mk2. It turns out it's going to sit for quite sometime. As it sits i'm sure i can accrue some funds and would like to hear some ideas.
2.0 Aba?
Vr6?
1.8t?
If you had the funds, what would be your dream heart transplant?

Heart Transplants! Empty Swapage

We are swapping a mk2 1992 Jetta 1.8 8v into my 1980 diesel Caddy. We used the mk2 digi2 wiring harness, a mk1 5spd, and are using a mk2 dash. We were able to use the diesel fuel tank, and a mk1 gti fuel pump. It's turning over but she won't firing right now. So close, but not road worthy yet.

What about a 2.0 ABA, with an 8v head, a small but decent turbo, TT street and strip cam, high rev springs, light weight flywheel! something to get pushing right around 200HP, if its a daily driver, I wouldn't want anything more then that IMO! Very Happy

VR6 is a direct bolt in to a MK2.

If funds are low, pick up an ABA bottom end and use the stock top end and fuel management, so no wiring to redo.

ABA is also a direct bolt in, good fun power with exhaust and chip.

2.0 16v from B3 passats is fun also.

ABA bottom end with 16v head will give you mild compression and good fun for an NA build.
