valve cover gasket upgrade for MK1-2

So i know im not the only one who has not had much luck with the crappy cork gaskets that the parts stores give us for are 8v valve covers. And when you tell them you want a rubber one they seem to have a tough time finding one. Well i was working on a MK4 today with a 2.0L and notice it had the rubber gasket. I looked it up on napa and they dont even list a cork one for that car. So from now on order your valve cover caskets for a mk4. They are a huge improvement and will fit the diesels too!!!

So the 8v valve cover gasket is the same as the mk4 2.0 gasket?

seems to be. The Mk4 2.0 is just an 8v with a fancy plastic cover on it. swing by the shop and see for yourself

good to know--will keep that in mind-- I work at Oreilly auto parts and will look into it for the cabrio I jus scored- -anyone know where i can get a dash piece cheap--no stereo and place where it goes is cracked--could also use a new heater control lever set.
